Position: Behaviour Specialist

Location: Shrewsbury

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and providing targeted support to students who exhibit challenging behaviours. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to create and implement effective behaviour management strategies that foster a safe and conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and identify the behavioural needs of individual students.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management plans and interventions.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to promote positive behaviour throughout the school.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on behaviour management techniques and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour strategies and interventions.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on student progress and behavioural incidents.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and young people with behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the well-being and development of young people.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
