Your new role

Protocol Education are currently recruiting trainee/unqualified teaching assistants to work in schools in Gateshead the surrounding areas of Newcastle and South Tyneside. This schools we work with offer prospective teaching assistants the opportunity to work all with children aged 11-16. Access to training will be provided throughout the role.  Our partner schools are looking for individuals who enjoy working with children of all ages, comfortable working with special needs and are passionate about making a positive impact in students learning and development. No experience is required, but commitment, passion and dedication are key attributes the school are looking for. 

The role: 

  • Monday to Friday
  • Hours 8:30-3:30
  • Working with special needs such as autism, speech & language and learning difficulties
  • Developing students’ communication and social awareness
  • Opportunity to develop students learning on a one-to-one basis
  • Assisting in key subjects such as tailored numeracy & literacy
  • Supporting students in creative lessons such as art, music, and cooking

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
