Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a focus on SEMH support, poised to make a meaningful impact within a school that is situated in an area of high deprivation where a lot of the children are in social care or come for low income families.

Location: Hastings

Contract: full or part time

Salary: £80-100 per day

About the school:

The main site, situated in Eastbourne offers provision to 16 KS3 and 20 KS4 students. The site is a former infants school building and has 4 multi-use classrooms, a science lab, Art room and food technology space. It serves students from schools in Eastbourne, Wealden and Lewes/Western Coastal areas. 
The purpose of the schooll is to identify and address underlying causes of difficult behaviours, enable re-engagement and support pupils to develop strategies for regulation, pro-social behaviours and resilience. The intention is for all pupils to move towards progression into mainstream settings, supported through relationship based therapeutic interventions.
The school offers statutory day 6 provision following permanent exclusion and dual registered provision for pupils are at risk of exclusion, with the intention of reintegrating into mainstream settings following a period of intervention with us

Your role as a SEMH Support Teaching Assistant is crucial:  

-          Offering tailored assistant to students with SEMH needs

-          Fostering a nurturing and empathetic classroom atmosphere

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
