Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and the SENCO to create an inclusive and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of SEN students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with classroom management and ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to develop effective support strategies.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, SEN qualifications) are highly desirable.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
