Are you passionate about supporting children in reaching their full potential? We’re looking for a friendly and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Colchester. In this role, you’ll work closely with a child with additional Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to flourish both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide focused, one-to-one support for a child with SEN, adapting activities to suit their specific needs.
  • Work alongside teachers and SEN coordinators to deliver personalized learning plans and strategies.
  • Support the child’s emotional well-being, building their confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Assist in classroom activities, ensuring the child is included and engaged in all aspects of learning.
  • Monitor and track the child’s progress, sharing updates with staff and parents to celebrate achievements and identify areas for further support.
  • Help to maintain a positive, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and approachable personality, with strong communication skills.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude, ready to adapt to a dynamic school environment.
  • Commitment to supporting the needs of children in a nurturing and professional way.
  • ️ An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies (training available if required).

Requirements:

  • ✅ A valid and up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
