Protocol Education is seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support students in a welcoming mainstream primary school in Wolverhampton. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support, ensuring children with SEND receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND.
  • Assisting teachers in planning and adapting lessons to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Promoting inclusion and equal opportunities in the classroom.
  • Supporting students in building confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
  • Managing challenging behaviours with patience and effective strategies to encourage positive engagement in learning activities.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking individuals with a passion for supporting children with SEND. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working with children or adults with SEND, particularly those with social, emotional, or learning needs.
  • Confidence in managing behaviours and applying tailored strategies to support individual student requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

Training or experience in supporting students with Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
