Protocol Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Dudley. This fulfilling role offers the chance to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in an inclusive and nurturing environment.
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate closely with teachers to provide tailored support for children with SEND. Responsibilities may include one-on-one assistance, small group support, and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs. You’ll play a crucial role in helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within the mainstream school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised support to children with SEND, enabling them to access the curriculum effectively.
- Assist teachers in planning and implementing lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Promote inclusion and equal opportunities within the classroom.
- Support students in developing confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
- Manage challenging behaviours and encourage positive engagement in learning activities.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or adults with SEND, particularly those with social, emotional, or learning needs.
- Confidence in managing behaviours and applying strategies to support individual requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Training or experience in supporting students with Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs.
