Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

In this position, you will play a key role in providing a broad and balanced curriculum, equipping students to become confident, lifelong learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the teacher to maintain a positive and effective learning environment.
  • Assist in lesson planning, evaluation, and adjustment of teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess pupils’ responses to learning activities, recording achievements against predetermined objectives.
  • Provide objective feedback and reports on pupil progress to the teacher.
  • Maintain and update routine records, contributing to system reviews as needed.
  • Promote positive values and behaviours among students, managing conflicts in line with school policies.
  • Liaise sensitively with parents/carers and participate in feedback sessions as directed.
  • Provide clerical/admin support, including the administration of coursework and preparation of resources.

Curriculum Support:

  • Implement agreed learning activities and adjust approaches based on pupil needs.
  • Support local and national learning strategies, enhancing literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Encourage the effective use of ICT in learning and help students develop their independence in its use.
  • Prepare and maintain general and specialist equipment in line with educational strategies.

Pupil Support:

  • Utilise specialised skills to assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Establish positive working relationships with pupils, serving as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance, supporting each student’s individual needs.
  • Encourage collaborative learning and foster a supportive classroom environment.
