If so, Protocol Education is excited to offer an amazing opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming primary school in Colchester.

This full-time role starts in January 2025, with the exciting possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Your Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to a tailored and engaging learning experience.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individualised interventions and adapt learning materials.
  • Build a nurturing and trusting relationship with the child, helping to boost their confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Support the child in developing social skills and positive interactions with peers.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and fun classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a classroom setting (desirable but not essential).
  • A caring, patient, and positive mindset with a passion for supporting children’s development.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the child, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to adapt to the child’s evolving needs.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate, or a willingness to undertake training.
