About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to deliver effective learning programmes for individuals and groups, both in and outside the classroom. You will play an essential role in planning, preparing resources, and occasionally supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absences. Your primary focus will be to maintain a positive learning environment, keep students on task, and provide support by answering questions and guiding them through set activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance children’s learning experiences and support their access to the curriculum.
  • Assist classroom teachers in lesson preparation and delivery.
  • Be a valuable part of a team focused on raising student achievement.
  • Make observations and assessments to identify next steps in each child’s learning journey.
  • Support individuals or groups in meeting learning objectives.

Tasks and Commitments:

  • Attend regular T.A. meetings and INSET (In-Service Training) sessions.
  • Participate in an annual appraisal cycle focused on professional growth.
  • Take ownership of your continuing professional development.
