About the Role:
An Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant. This role involves supporting children with special educational needs, requiring qualities such as being encouraging, patient, non-judgmental, approachable, positive, and adaptable.
Job Duties:
- Work with students with special educational needs, following EHCPs and tailored educational plans.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to support the growth and development of every child.
- Communicate with students in a motivating and supportive manner, building trusting relationships.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding to meet diverse learning requirements.
- Adapt to different situations and challenges that may arise in a proactive and flexible manner.
Required Qualifications:
- Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Safeguarding training
Education:
Previous experience working with children with additional needs or a strong desire to do so.
Experience:
Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Passionate about making a positive impact on students with special educational needs.
- Ability to follow EHCPs and tailored educational plans.
- Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with students.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding to support diverse learning requirements.
- Proactive and flexible approach to adapt to different situations and challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduates or aspiring teachers looking to gain experience before applying for teacher training.
