The Role:

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in managing their behaviour and emotions.
  • Assist in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to provide tailored support.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed.
  • Monitor and report on students’ progress and development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or a willingness to undergo training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
