Mental health Student support worker

Newcastle upon Tyne

Key stage 3-4

Protocol Education is currently recruiting for individuals to work within a school in Newcastle supporting young people who struggling with their mental wellbeing.

Students with in mainstream secondary schools require support workers who can support them with their mental wellbeing.

Individuals who have good knowledge of mental health conditions will be successful in this role. Therefore, if you have a degree in Psychology or mental health nursing you would be well suited to this role. If you have any personal or professional experience supporting individuals with any mental health conditions you have the skill set to be successful in this role.

The role:

  • Supporting students with SEMH conditions with their personal and academic development.
  • Interacting with students one-to-one or in a small group capacity.
  • Engaging with students activities.
  • Supporting student in and outside the classroom.

The requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • Has or is willing to obtain an enhanced DBS.
  • Has good knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions.
  • Has positive communication skills.
  • Is passionate about supporting young people’s personal and academic development.
