Job Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons to students that inspire creativity and enhance their understanding of music
  • Develop and implement an engaging and inclusive music curriculum that caters to diverse learning styles
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress in music education, providing constructive feedback to students and parents
  • Organise and oversee music-related extracurricular activities, including concerts, competitions, and workshops
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and promote a positive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
  • Valid DBS check

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field

Experience:

  • Proven experience teaching music to students, with a track record of successful student outcomes
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment, with a focus on promoting diversity and inclusion

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of music theory, history, and performance techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate students
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Music Education or related field
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and promoting inclusive learning environments

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school environment, interacting with students, parents, and colleagues. It may require some evening or weekend commitments for school events or performances.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
