Job Title: Mathematics Teacher

Location: Darlington

Job Type: Full-time, long-term

Working hours = 8.30 am – 3:15pm

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons to students
  • Evaluate students' progress through assignments and examinations
  • Provide individualised support to enhance understanding of mathematical concepts
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment in the classroom
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding students' academic progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Mathematics
  • Degree in Mathematics or related field
  • Proven experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum and educational policies

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
  • Strong organisational skills to effectively plan and deliver lessons

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education (PGCE)
  • Experience using technology in the classroom to enhance learning

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school environment, following the academic calendar. The teacher will be expected to work full-time hours during term time, with additional responsibilities such as parent-teacher meetings and extracurricular activities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
