Teacher of English

Protocol Education are working alongside a Wiltshire based Secondary School and are looking to appoint appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and inspirational teacher of English. The successful candidate would be expected to teach English across all the ability ranges at KS3 & KS4.

Hours: Full time. Part time also considered

The English Department is an enthusiastic and successful team of committed individuals. This is a team which possesses a range of strengths and expertise. Year’s 7 to 9 students are taught in seven banded classes, grouped into two top, two middle and two lower band classes. Class sizes tend to be around 32 for the upper groups and are incrementally smaller for the lower band. Lower ability groups are supported, wherever possible, by teaching assistants.

The department provides a broad and balanced curriculum, embracing the National Literacy framework’s teaching objectives and approaches. The department is committed to developing and refreshing existing programmes of study, a core focus every Term 6 during development time

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an inspirational and passionate English teacher.
  • Be a professional who is able to work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders.
  • Be passionate about raising attainment in a classroom environment with students of all abilities.
  • Be able to show evidence of continually improving the teaching and learning of their subject through schemes of work and extra-curricular activities.

The school are looking for a Teacher to EITHER start from September 2025, or as soon as possible.

 

We also work with all Secondary Schools in the Wiltshire/Swindon/Bath/Bristol area, so there is never a shortage of work to fill the gap between now and September 2025 if you cannot start until then, so please do still apply.
