Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons to students
  • Assess and evaluate student progress to provide constructive feedback
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and teaching materials
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level

Teaching Computer Science at secondary level

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Computer Science curriculum and pedagogy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Proficient in using educational technology in the classroom

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school environment, interacting with students, parents, and colleagues. The teacher of Computer Science may also be required to attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions outside of regular school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
