Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Boys PE to join our passionate PE department starting in September. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for physical education and a desire to inspire and motivate boys to lead healthy and active lifestyles both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging PE lessons for boys across all key stages, focusing on a range of sports and physical activities.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where boys feel supported, valued, and motivated to participate and succeed.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies to cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Organise and lead extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and events to provide additional opportunities for boys to participate in physical activity and develop their skills.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development and achievement in PE.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a whole-school approach to health and wellbeing and contribute to the wider life of the school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for physical education, with a focus on boys' engagement and participation.
- Experience teaching PE to secondary school students, preferably within a diverse and inclusive school environment.
- Ability to inspire and motivate boys to participate in physical activity and develop their skills, confidence, and resilience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to promoting the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.
