Protocol Education are looking for a Swimming & PE Teacher to join a specialist school in Cambridge

This is a full time position, supporting children with severe and complex needs.

The schools curriculum aims to make the child’s learning stimulating, creative, fun and successful whilst setting high expectations for every child. It is delivered through high quality teaching, based on sound knowledge and understanding of each child’s needs.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver swimming lessons tailored to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assess students' swimming abilities and progress, providing appropriate feedback and support
  • Create a safe and inclusive swimming environment for all students
  • Collaborate with SEN teachers to ensure individualised learning plans are met
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and achievements
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Swimming Teacher certification
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Valid lifeguard qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Minimum of Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience teaching swimming to individuals with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN teaching methodologies
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet individual student needs
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to swimming instruction

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
