Support Assistant for Visually Impaired Student

Responsibilities:
Assist a visually impaired student throughout the school day, including in classrooms, breakfast club, break times, lunch times, study club, and after-school activities.
Encourage the student's resilience and independence in learning and social interactions with peers and staff.
Work closely with the student's family to address concerns and support the child's overall development.
Student Progress and Behaviour
Support teachers with lesson planning and preparation.
Track the student's progress through interim reports and exercise books.
Provide regular feedback on the student's achievements to parents, carers, and professionals.
Create resources to ensure curriculum accessibility.
Offer pre- and post-tutoring assistance to help the student grasp lesson materials and key concepts.
Maintain effective communication with the student's family to support consistent behaviour management at home and implement external support.
Monitor progress, set targets, and ensure appropriate interventions are implemented.
Modify teaching materials to help the student access key lesson points and objectives independently.
Lead small group sessions to help the student achieve their targets.
This role is crucial in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for a visually impaired student, promoting their academic and social development.
Pay rate is dependent on experience & qualifications

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
