Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons to students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher
  • Follow the school's curriculum and lesson plans
  • Manage the classroom effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment
  • Assess and record students' progress and provide feedback to regular teachers
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Right to work in the UK

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Previous experience teaching in a classroom setting preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Effective classroom management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in specific subject areas
  • Experience working as a supply teacher

Working Conditions:

  • Work in various schools within the Merton area
  • Full-time hours, typically between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Potential for travel between different school locations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
