Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons to students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment
  • Follow lesson plans provided by the school and adapt them as needed
  • Provide feedback to the regular teacher on student progress and behaviour
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching or working with children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the UK national curriculum
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage classroom activities effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Experience working as a supply teacher in a similar setting

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school setting following the school calendar
  • May require travel to different schools within the St Ives area
  • Full-time hours with potential for additional responsibilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
