Job Duties:

  • Assist sports teachers in delivering lessons and coaching sessions
  • Support students during sports activities and ensure their safety
  • Help set up and organise sports equipment and facilities
  • Provide feedback to students to help improve their skills
  • Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience working with children or young adults
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for sports and physical education

Education:

A relevant sports coaching or teaching qualification is desirable

Experience:

Previous experience in a sports coaching or teaching role is advantageous

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of sports rules and techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students
  • Basic first aid knowledge
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Safeguarding training

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours, primarily during school hours. The Sports Teaching Assistant will work closely with sports teachers and students in an educational setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
