Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN, ensuring their specific needs are met
  • Collaborate closely with teachers to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment for students with SEN
  • Provide one-to-one support for students with SEN as needed, promoting their academic and personal growth
  • Monitor and record student progress, keeping accurate and detailed records
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support, encouraging positive and respectful interactions

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Prior experience working with children or individuals with SEN
  • Knowledge of SEN and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or individuals with SEN

Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with strategies and techniques to support students with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Additional training in SEN support

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, temporary position
  • Primarily working within a school setting
  • Some flexibility in working hours may be required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
