Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with special needs in their educational and personal development
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with learning disabilities or behavioural challenges
  • Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitoring and recording student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs

Education:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3)

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children with special needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Mental Health First Aid training

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular school hours
  • Working closely with students, teachers, and other support staff
  • Potential for physical and emotional demands due to the nature of working with special needs students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
