Job Duties:

  • Provide support to children with special needs in a classroom setting
  • Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Help students with personal care needs as required
  • Support students in their learning and social development
  • Monitor and record student progress
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children with special needs
  • Basic understanding of special educational needs (SEN)

Education:

Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support

Experience:

Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and approaches
  • Ability to build rapport with students and provide emotional support
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Additional training in special needs education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
