Job Duties:
As a Special Needs Teacher focusing on Autism, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with autism spectrum disorders. You will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, implement strategies to support communication and social interaction, and collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Special Education Needs (SEN) experience
- Experience working with students with autism
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and best practises in teaching students with autism
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to special educational needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in Special Education Needs
- Training in autism-specific teaching methodologies
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily in a classroom setting
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and conferences as required
- Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students
