Job Duties:
- Supporting students with special educational needs in a SEN unit
- Assisting with classroom activities and lesson preparations
- Providing one-on-one support to students as needed
- Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to implement individualised education plans
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with special needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student development
Education:
Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
Experience:
Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of special educational needs and different learning styles
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Basic knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Additional training in special educational needs support
