Job Duties:
The Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will provide support to children with special educational needs in the classroom. This includes assisting with individual learning plans, helping with personal care needs, and facilitating communication between students and teachers. The role involves adapting teaching materials to suit the needs of each student, monitoring progress, and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications. A relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable.
Education:
Secondary education required. Additional qualifications in special educational needs support are preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience working with children with special educational needs is essential. Experience in a classroom setting is advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Training in safeguarding and first aid.
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in a classroom environment, supporting students with special educational needs. Full-time hours are expected, following the school term calendar. The ability to provide personal care and assist with physical activities may be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
