Position Overview:
• Location: Watford
• Start Date: September 2024
• Working Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Pay: £85-£95 per day Plus CPD

Key Responsibilities:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Your responsibilities include:
• Supporting Pupils: Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the assistance required to thrive academically and emotionally.
• Building Positive Relationships: Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting high self-esteem and independence while offering encouragement and support.
• Adapting Communication: Adjust communication styles to suit the individual needs of pupils, ensuring effective interaction and understanding.
• Supporting Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs: Assist pupils with their social, emotional, and mental health needs, identifying and escalating concerns as necessary to ensure appropriate support is provided.
• Promoting Positive Behaviour: Encourage and promote high standards of behaviour, adhering to the school’s behaviour policy and guidelines on physical intervention when necessary.
• Individual Education and Support Plans: Contribute to the development and delivery of individual education and support plans, collaborating with teachers and specialists to address specific learning goals and requirements.

Qualifications and Attributes:

• Previous experience working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities is desirable.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable pupils.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of pupils and respond effectively to challenging situations.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and protocols.
• Relevant qualifications and certifications are advantageous.
