SLD Learning Support Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD) in a classroom setting
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
  • Support students with personal care needs as required
  • Help students with communication and social interactions
  • Assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents

Education:

GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) practises
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a classroom environment with students with Severe Learning Disabilities. It may require assisting with personal care needs and supporting students with various activities throughout the day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
