Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Full-time: 5 days per week (Part-time not available)

Year 1 – Non-Verbal, Autism Spectrum, Personal Care Required

About the Role:

  • Provide one-to-one support for a Year 1 child with non-verbal autism
  • Assist with personal care needs, ensuring dignity and comfort
  • Support the child’s communication, engagement, and social development
  • Implement strategies to encourage independence and learning
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to tailor support

About You:

  • ✅ Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ✅ Comfortable with personal care responsibilities
  • ✅ Understanding of non-verbal communication techniques (PECS, Makaton, etc.)
  • ✅ Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • ✅ Passionate about making a positive impact in SEND education
