As a Creative Classroom Assistant, you will play a crucial role in cultivating creativity and enhancing students' abilities in a vibrant sensory setting. Your responsibilities will include improving hand-eye coordination, speech and language skills, social and communication abilities, independence, and cognitive processes.
But that's not all - you will also have the exciting opportunity to dive into various subjects, such as cooking, art, and music.
Key Details:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 3:30
- Engage students through dynamic activities like music, art, P.E. and cooking
- Provide personalised support, focusing on elevating students' communication and hand-eye coordination
- Assist with sensory integration in the classroom
- Collaborate with teachers to assess students' levels and abilities
- Ensure faithful implementation of the school's principles and policies
The Role: As a Creative Classroom SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential part of our SEN department, working closely with teachers to support students with a range of special educational needs. Your creativity, patience, and enthusiasm will help foster a positive learning atmosphere where every student feels valued and motivated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, adapting teaching methods to meet their unique needs.
- Creative Learning: Assist in the development and implementation of creative and engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Classroom Assistance: Support the class teacher in managing the classroom, preparing materials, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Emotional and Social Support: Help students develop social skills and emotional resilience, providing encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff members to create and maintain individualised education plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
- Communication: Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.

Qualifications:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
