The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to work in a variety of SEND schools, providing essential support to students with additional needs. Your role will be to ensure that each student receives the best possible educational experience and has an equal chance to succeed beyond the classroom. Initially, you'll work on a day-to-day basis, but there may be opportunities for a long-term position if required by a school.
The Schools:
You will be placed in different SEND schools across Sunderland, each catering to a range of needs, including ASC, PMLD, SEMH, SLD, and more. Regardless of the school you are assigned to, you will be entrusted with maintaining the safety, confidentiality, and progress of all pupils, while aligning with the school's core values and ethos.
The Ideal Candidate:
Whether your background is in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a completely different field, your transferable skills are in high demand! You should be an outgoing, confident individual who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for students.
Adaptability, motivation, and commitment to creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment are key. It is essential that you value each child as an individual and are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential.
While not mandatory, qualifications in Moving and Handling and/or Team Teach training are highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
