Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the classroom
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored educational activities
  • Providing one-to-one support to students who require additional help for students with physical disabilities
  • Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborating with other staff members and ensure engagement of non-verbal students 

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Right to work
  • Enhanced DBS check

Education:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND
  • Experience in a classroom setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning needs and how to support them
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy towards students with SEND

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Training in behaviour management techniques
  • Health and Social Care 
  • Cache level 3
  • Manual handling

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school setting
  • Full-time hours 8:30- 16:00
