SEND Teacher

At Protocol Education we are currently looking for an experienced, resilient, and enthusiastic Teacher to work full time at a well established SEND school in the North Leeds area 

We require a SEND Teacher at a Good to outstanding setting. The role would be based in a multi site provision teaching students with varying levels and needs.

About the role:

Our SEND Teachers’ duties can include:

  • Planning and delivering adaptable lessons to a wide range of pupils and abilities.
  • Establishing a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Teach useful strategies that will aid the students in their out of school lives.
  • Marking effectively to enable progression with students.
  • Safeguarding of all students and staff.
  • Assessment.
  • 1-to-1 Intervention.
  • Group intervention.
  • Whole schoolwork.

The ideal SEND Teacher will have:

  • QTS/ECT 
  • Experience teaching a range of subjects both Primary and Vocational in the UK and be able to manage behaviour

SEND Teacher experience:

  • Build Strong relationships.
  • Be able to de-escalate behavioural needs safely and calmly.
  • Experience teaching in mainstream secondary, SEND, pupil referral units, SEMH schools, SEND specific units.
  • Plan deliver and mark a minimum of a good lesson.
  • Be able to commute easily.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and adapt to the schools or AP's ethos.
  • (ADD, ADHD, ODD, CAMHS, Complex Needs, Behaviour Difficulties, Autism or MLD.)
