SEN/SEMH Support Roles – Ideal for Former Social Workers
Newcastle & Northumberland | £83.85 – £90 per day | Full-time & part-time roles available

Are you a former social worker seeking a meaningful career change? Your skills in supporting vulnerable individuals, managing challenging behaviours, and building trust are highly valued in schools. We’re looking for compassionate and resilient individuals to provide SEN and SEMH support to students across mainstream and SEND schools.

The Role:

  • Support students with a range of needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, trauma, and attachment disorders.

  • Help create a nurturing, safe, and structured environment where students can thrive.

  • Use your de-escalation techniques, safeguarding expertise, and relationship-building skills to promote positive outcomes.

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide tailored support.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Background in social work, youth work, or family support – your experience is invaluable.

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism.

  • Experience with safeguarding procedures and understanding of trauma-informed approaches.

  • Confidence to collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to meet student needs.
