SEND Support Assistants Needed in Lincoln - Local SEND School

Protocol Education is excited to be recruiting SEND Support Assistants for a local SEND school in Lincoln. Role Details:

  • Position: SEND Support Assistant
  • Location: Lincoln, Local SEND School
  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Age Range: EYFS to KS4 (Dependent on experience)
  • Contract Type: Full-time, with potential for permanent placement

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the EYFS to KS4 age range.
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility needs as required.
  • Encouraging student participation in classroom activities and supporting learning.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to assist with learning challenges.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to foster a positive, inclusive environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to monitor and track student progress.
  • Promoting student independence and social development in both classroom and social settings.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or adults with SEND is advantageous, but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and parents effectively.
