SEND Support Assistants Needed in Horncastle - Local SEND School

Protocol Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Support Assistants to join a local SEND school in Horncastle. These full-time roles offer excellent opportunities for permanent positions, allowing you to play a key role in supporting the educational development and well-being of students with special educational needs.

 

Role Details:

  • Position: SEND Support Assistant
  • Location: Horncastle, Local SEND School
  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Age Range: KS3 to KS4 (Dependent on experience)
  • Contract Type: Full-time, with potential for permanent placement

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the EYFS to KS4 age range.
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility needs where required.
  • Encouraging student engagement in classroom activities and learning.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to help students overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
  • Assisting with behaviour management and implementing positive strategies to foster a supportive environment.
  • Working closely with teachers and staff to monitor student progress and tailor support as needed.
  • Promoting student independence and encouraging positive social integration.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or adults with SEND is desirable, but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
