SEND Support Assistants Needed in Grantham - Local SEND School

Protocol Education is seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Support Assistants to join a local SEND school in Grantham. These full-time roles offer the potential for permanent positions, providing the chance to make a significant impact on students' lives and contribute to their educational journey.

 

Role Details:

  • Position: SEND Support Assistant
  • Location: Grantham, Local SEND School
  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Age Range: EYFS to KS4 (Dependent on experience)
  • Contract Type: Full-time, with potential for permanent placement

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the EYFS to KS4 age range.
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility where required.
  • Encouraging students to engage in classroom activities and learning.
  • Working 1:1 or with small groups to support specific learning needs.
  • Helping with behavioural support and implementing strategies to promote positive outcomes.
  • Liaising with teachers and other staff to monitor and support the progress of individual students.
  • Promoting independence and social integration within the school environment.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or adults with SEND is desirable, but not essential.
  • A passion for working with young people with additional needs.
  • Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both with students and the wider school community.
