Passionate and Resilient TAs Wanted – Make a Real Difference in North Tyneside
Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Through Protocol Education
Are you someone who shows up, stays calm under pressure, and genuinely wants to support children who need consistency and care the most?
We’re recruiting full-time Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils with significant and complex needs in a nurturing school setting in Walker, North Tyneside. These roles begin in late April and are set to run throughout the summer term, with potential for long-term or permanent opportunities.
These are challenging roles – pupils often struggle with emotional regulation, have limited or delayed speech and language skills, and may lash out physically or verbally when overwhelmed. Many require personal care, and the majority will spend much of their day in supported environments outside of the mainstream classroom.
We’re Looking For Individuals Who:
-
Stay calm, kind, and consistent in high-pressure situations
-
Can set firm but compassionate boundaries
-
Understand that all behaviour is a form of communication
-
Have the patience and creativity to support children with delayed speech and limited verbal communication
-
Feel confident working 1:1 or in small groups, often in a specialist or alternative setting
-
Have a straightforward, reliable commute to and from Walker
We strongly encourage applications from candidates with backgrounds in:
-
Psychology, education, childhood studies, or health and social care
-
Support work, youth work, care work, or residential childcare
-
Personal or voluntary experience with children or young people with SEND, autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties
In return, Protocol Education offers:
-
A dedicated consultant who understands your goals
-
Opportunities that match your strengths and experience
-
Ongoing CPD and training to support your development
-
A chance to make a lasting impact in a child’s life
This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to become a trusted adult in a child’s world, someone who helps them feel safe, seen, and supported.
