Protocol Education is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Grantham, specifically focused on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in the lives of students who require tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons for students with SEMH in both individual and small group settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring that each student’s specific needs are met.
  • Foster a nurturing, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students in managing their social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, external professionals, and parents to monitor student progress and well-being.
  • Support students’ personal development by promoting positive behaviors and building resilience.
  • Adapt teaching methods and strategies to suit the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
  • Ensure all school policies, particularly around safeguarding, are followed at all times.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working in a SEND or SEMH setting, ideally with students who have social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of SEMH strategies and approaches to support student learning and well-being.
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs and EHCPs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals.
  • Understanding of behavior management strategies and experience supporting students with challenging behaviors.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Full-time commitment required for this role.
  • Driving licence is beneficial; access to reliable transport is crucial for potential travel between schools or placements.

 

Salary:

£130 - £180 per day, dependent on experience.
