Protocol Education is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with a passion for working within Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools.

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Contract: Long-term

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team at a secondary school in Sunderland. The school is dedicated to providing its pupils with the best possible preparation for their future, ensuring they achieve personal growth and success.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a positive learning environment, offering essential support and guidance to help pupils excel. They will also have a passion for working with students with diverse needs and a strong understanding of SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEND, both in and out of the classroom
  • Assist in creating and implementing individualised education plans
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support students' learning and development
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to the SENCO

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with students with SEND
  • Strong understanding of SEND, including different learning styles and strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
