SEND Learning Support Assistant

Location: East of England, Essex, Harlow

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a classroom setting
  • Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND
  • Support students with their learning activities and help them achieve their educational goals
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to create a supportive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND

Education:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with SEND

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEND practises and strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Additional training in specific areas of SEND support

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, working hours may vary
  • Work primarily in a classroom setting
  • Potential interaction with students with challenging behaviours
  • Regular collaboration with teaching staff and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
