SEND Learning Support Assistant
Location: East of England, Essex, Colchester
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £83.85 - £95 Per day
Job Description:
Job Duties:
- Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a classroom setting
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour
Required Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Knowledge of SEND legislation and best practises
Education:
- Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
Experience:
- Experience in supporting students with SEND in an educational setting
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support students with SEND
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher
- Additional training in specific areas of SEND support
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily conducted in a classroom setting
- May involve some physical activity, such as assisting students with mobility
- Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
