ECT SEND Teacher

We are looking to hear from passionate and determined Early Career Teachers (ECT) in Special Needs (SEN), eager to start their career in teaching. If you are an enthusiastic educator ready to make a difference, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school environment dedicated to helping students with additional needs thrive.

As an ECT SEND Teacher, you will have the opportunity to deliver personalised lessons that meet the individual needs of your students. This specialised school provides tailored education for students aged 5 to 16 who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). It caters primarily to those with moderate learning difficulties but also supports a range of additional needs, such as autism, speech, language, communication challenges, and behavioural issues. The school emphasizes individualised instruction by maintaining small class sizes and incorporating teaching assistants to support the teacher. The educational approach includes the Team Teach behaviour management principles, ensuring a structured and supportive environment for all students.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a clear understanding of what makes outstanding teaching and learning, particularly for children with SEND and SEMH.
  • Show a strong commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity for all learners, particularly those with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Be reflective, open to feedback, and driven to continuously improve their practice.
  • Be an optimistic and dedicated team player who sets high expectations for pupils.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for innovative and inclusive education to meet the needs of diverse learners, especially those with SEMH challenges.

Requirements:

  • UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or PGCE.
  • Experience or a passion for working with SEND and SEMH learners.
  • Strong feedback from teaching placements, demonstrating readiness for induction.
