Job Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with severe and complex needs
- Assess students' abilities and progress to inform individualised education plans
- Collaborate with support staff and parents to create a supportive learning environment
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support students with challenging behaviours
- Participate in meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with students with severe and complex needs
- Understanding of special educational needs (SEN) practises and legislation
Education
Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching students with severe and complex needs
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of different learning styles and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of assessment and evaluation techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Experience using assistive technology to support learning
- Training in Makaton or other communication systems
Working Conditions
This role involves working in a classroom setting with students who have severe and complex needs. The teacher may need to provide personal care and support to students as required. Regular interaction with support staff, parents, and external professionals is also part of the job.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
