Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SENCO to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special educational needs and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students. As our SENCO, you will lead the provision for students with SEN, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support the academic, social, and emotional development of SEN students.
  • Coordinate and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting SEN students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN interventions and support mechanisms.
  • Stay current with developments in SEN education and ensure the school remains compliant with all relevant legislation and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • NASENCO Award or willingness to work towards it.
  • Proven experience in a SENCO role or significant experience working with SEN students.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
