Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Provide guidance and training to school staff on SEN best practises
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of SEN students and adjust support as needed
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to SEN provision

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SENCO Award
  • Experience working with SEN students in an educational setting

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead SEN initiatives
  • Good organisational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in SEN or related field
  • Experience in conducting SEN assessments and writing reports

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within a school environment
  • Full-time hours with occasional evening or weekend work required
  • May involve travel to attend meetings and training sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
