Job Duties:

The SEN Teaching Assistant at Ruislip will be responsible for supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities in the classroom. Duties include providing one-to-one assistance, implementing individual education plans, assisting with personal care when needed, and using communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, and British Sign Language.

Qualifications:

SEND Qualification preferred

Education:

Relevant educational background in Special Education or related field

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong empathy and interpersonal skills, positive attitude, active listening abilities, proficiency in personal care, familiarity with PECS, Makaton, and British Sign Language

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a classroom setting with students with special needs. The candidate may need to provide personal care and support throughout the day.
